Chris & Andy have previously owned and operated several companies in the automotive sector, including the design, manufacture and sale of specialist after-market components for several marquee names including BMW-Mini, Renault and Rover. The brothers have rebuilt, restored, and modified various makes of classic cars.
They have worked with vehicles such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Jaguar, Lotus and others in the top end of the automotive sector. They have also developed, built and sold several fibreglass reinforced plastic (FRP) bodied automobiles into the European kit car market. In the 1990's, The brothers undertook two major R&D projects; the first was the design and fabrication of the "Bandit", a space-frame and composite bodied vehicle which was gasoline powered.
The second was development of a complete body and running gear racing conversion of the BMW Mini Cooper for Mini Mania.
Chris graduated from Hornsey College of Art, London, and worked as a graphic designer
for a number of UK companies before becoming a pattern maker and composites expert
with Fibresport Composites. He then joined Mynheer Automotive as Design Director and
was responsible for designing and manufacturing the very successful body kits for which
the company was well known.
Andy was an area manager for a major UK auto parts
supply company and a graphic design manager for a consulting company before forming
Mynheer Automotive. Andy has a strong background in designing, manufacturing, and
modifying vehicle mechanical systems.
At Von Mynheer Automotive, we continue with design and development of all models. Currently, we are active with an EV Delivery van, know as the CHARTER.
